﴿فَعَقَرُواْ ٱلنَّاقَةَ وَعَتَوۡاْ عَنۡ أَمۡرِ رَبِّهِمۡ وَقَالُواْ يَٰصَٰلِحُ ٱئۡتِنَا بِمَا تَعِدُنَآ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ ﴾
[الأعرَاف: 77]
﴿فعقروا الناقة وعتوا عن أمر ربهم وقالوا ياصالح ائتنا بما تعدنا إن﴾ [الأعرَاف: 77]
| Abdel Haleem and then they hamstrung the camel. They defied their Lord’s commandment and said, ‘Salih, bring down the punishment you threaten, if you really are a messenger!’ |
| Abdul Hye Then they hamstrung (killed) the she-camel, insolently defied the order of their Lord, and they said: “O Saleh! Bring us what you have been promising (threat) us if you are indeed one of the Messengers (of Allah).” |
| Abdullah Yusuf Ali Then they ham-strung the she-camel, and insolently defied the order of their Lord, saying: "O Salih! bring about thy threats, if thou art a messenger (of Allah) |
| Abdul Majid Daryabadi Then they hamstrung the she camel and disdained the commandment of their Lord, and said: Salih! bring upon us that wherewith thou hast threatened us if thou art in sooth of the sent ones |
