﴿قُلۡ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ قَدۡ جَآءَكُمُ ٱلۡحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكُمۡۖ فَمَنِ ٱهۡتَدَىٰ فَإِنَّمَا يَهۡتَدِي لِنَفۡسِهِۦۖ وَمَن ضَلَّ فَإِنَّمَا يَضِلُّ عَلَيۡهَاۖ وَمَآ أَنَا۠ عَلَيۡكُم بِوَكِيلٖ ﴾
[يُونس: 108]
﴿قل ياأيها الناس قد جاءكم الحق من ربكم فمن اهتدى فإنما يهتدي﴾ [يُونس: 108]
Dr Kamal Omar Say: “O you mankind! Surely, has come to you Al-Haqq from your Nourisher-Sustainer. So whosoever receives guidance, then surely it is that he guides his own self. And whosoever went astray, then surely it is that he goes astray against her(i.e., nafs). And I am not over you as a wakil (disposer of affairs) |
Dr Laleh Bakhtiar Say: O humanity! Surely, The Truth drew near you from your Lord so whoever was truly guided, then, he is only truly guided for his own self. And whoever went astray, then, he only goes astray to his own loss. And I am not a trustee over you |
Dr Munir Munshey Say, "Oh you people! The truth has come to you. It is from your Lord! So, whoever accepts the guidance, does so for his own good. Whoever fails to do so, will only lead himself astray. I am not a guardian over you |
Edward Henry Palmer Say, 'O ye people! there has come to you the truth from your Lord, and he who is guided, his guidance is only for his soul; and he who errs, errs only against it; and I am not a guardian over you |
Farook Malik O Muhammad, declare: "O mankind! The truth has come to you from your Lord! He that follows guidance (Right Way) follows it for his own good, and he that goes astray does so at his own risk; for I am not a custodian over you |
George Sale Say, O men, now hath the truth come unto you from your Lord. He therefore who shall be directed, will be directed to the advantage of his own soul: But he who shall err, will err only against the same. I am no guardian over you |
Maududi Tell them (O Muhammad): `Men! Truth has come to you from your Lord. Whosoever, then, follows the true guidance does so for his own good; and whosoever strays, his straying will be to his own hurt. I am no custodian over you |
