﴿وَٱسۡتَبَقَا ٱلۡبَابَ وَقَدَّتۡ قَمِيصَهُۥ مِن دُبُرٖ وَأَلۡفَيَا سَيِّدَهَا لَدَا ٱلۡبَابِۚ قَالَتۡ مَا جَزَآءُ مَنۡ أَرَادَ بِأَهۡلِكَ سُوٓءًا إِلَّآ أَن يُسۡجَنَ أَوۡ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٞ ﴾
[يُوسُف: 25]
﴿واستبقا الباب وقدت قميصه من دبر وألفيا سيدها لدى الباب قالت ما﴾ [يُوسُف: 25]
| Dr Kamal Omar So the two raced with one another to the door (as Yusuf attempted to run out of the room; and the lady attempted to physically empower him) and (during this struggle) she tore his shirt from the back. And they both found her Sayyid (husband) close to the door. (Completely confused) she said: “What is the punishment for that who intended an immoral act with your wife, except that he is put in prison or in a punishment of torture |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar So they raced to the door and she tore his long shirt from behind. And they both discovered her chief at the door. She said: What is the recompense of him who wanted evil for thy household, but that he be imprisoned or a painful punishment |

She said, "How do you punish the person who covets, and casts an evil (lustful) eye upon your wife? Shouldn´t he be put behind bars or receive other painful punishment |
