Quran with Tafsir_English translation - Surah Ar-Ra‘d ayat 13 - الرَّعد - Page - Juz 13

And thunder, like the rest of His creation, as it declares itself, reverberates His praises, and so do the angels who stand under His awe with dread mingled with veneration and entertain the profound reverence dutiful to Him. He sends the engendered thunderbolts wherever He wills to strike therewith whom He will. Yet they -the infidels- argue against Allah and they are ready to argue than to obey Him when He is the Omnipotent and the Almighty Who strikes at the root

Dr Kamal Omar
And Ar-Râ‘d (The Thunder) swiftly glorifies (Him) with His Praise as well as the angels out of fear to Him, and He sends the thunder-bolts alongwith lightnings and He reaches (smiting) therewith whom He thinks proper; yet they dispute concerning Allah, while He is powerfully strong in punishment
Dr Laleh Bakhtiar
and thunder glorifies His praise and the angels, because of their awe of Him. And He sends thunderbolts and He lights on whom He wills. And they dispute about God, and He is a Severe Force
Dr Munir Munshey
Out of fear, the angels sing His praises, and so does thunder. With a bolt of lightning, He stupefies whomever He wants. Yet, they quarrel about Allah! He is extremely Powerful
Edward Henry Palmer
And the thunder celebrates His praise, and the angels too for fear of Him; and He sends the thunder-clap and overtakes therewith whom He will;- yet they wrangle about God! But He is strong in might
Farook Malik
The thunder declares His glory with His praises and so do the angels with awe. He sends thunderbolts and smites with them whomever He wants. Yet these unbelievers dispute concerning Allah; He is mighty in strength
George Sale
The thunder celebrateth his praise, and the angels also, for fear of Him. He sendeth his thunderbolts, and striketh therewith whom He pleaseth, while they dispute concerning God; for He is mighty in power
Maududi
The thunder celebrates His praise and holiness, and the angels, too, celebrate His praise for awe of Him. He hurls thunderbolts, striking with them whom He wills while they are engaged in disputation concerning Allah. He is Mighty in His contriving
