﴿وَقَدۡ مَكَرَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ فَلِلَّهِ ٱلۡمَكۡرُ جَمِيعٗاۖ يَعۡلَمُ مَا تَكۡسِبُ كُلُّ نَفۡسٖۗ وَسَيَعۡلَمُ ٱلۡكُفَّٰرُ لِمَنۡ عُقۡبَى ٱلدَّارِ ﴾
[الرَّعد: 42]
﴿وقد مكر الذين من قبلهم فلله المكر جميعا يعلم ما تكسب كل﴾ [الرَّعد: 42]
| Dr Kamal Omar And verily, those before them did indulge in plotting (against Islam), but all planning is for Allah (to survey and counteract). He knows what every person earns. And very soon the disbelievers come to know for whom is (very favourable) the final one as the residence |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar And, surely, those who were before them planned, but to God is the plan altogether. He knows what every person earns. And the ones who are ungrateful will know for whom will be the Ultimate Abode |

| Maududi Those who lived before them also devised many a plot, but the master plot rests with Allah. He knows what everyone does. The deniers of the truth will soon come to know whose end is good |
