﴿وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يَشۡرِي نَفۡسَهُ ٱبۡتِغَآءَ مَرۡضَاتِ ٱللَّهِۚ وَٱللَّهُ رَءُوفُۢ بِٱلۡعِبَادِ ﴾
[البَقَرَة: 207]
﴿ومن الناس من يشري نفسه ابتغاء مرضات الله والله رءوف بالعباد﴾ [البَقَرَة: 207]
| Dr Kamal Omar And of mankind is he who would sell himself, seehead of state the desires of Allah. And Allah is full of kindness to (His) Ibad |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar And among humanity is he who sells himself looking for the goodwill of God, and God is Gentle with His servants |
| Dr Munir Munshey Among people are also those, who would willingly sell themselves out of the desire to please Allah. And of course, Allah is full of compassion for (His) servants |
| Edward Henry Palmer And there is among men one who selleth his soul craving, those things that are pleasing unto God and God is kind unto His servants |
| Farook Malik And among people there is one who would give away his life to seek the pleasure of Allah. Allah is affectionate to His devotees |
| George Sale There is also a man who selleth his soul for the sake of those things which are pleasing unto God; and God is gracious unto his servants |
| Maududi On the other side, there is another type of man who devotes his whole life to please Allah, and Allah is gracious to such of His servants |
