﴿وَإِذۡ نَجَّيۡنَٰكُم مِّنۡ ءَالِ فِرۡعَوۡنَ يَسُومُونَكُمۡ سُوٓءَ ٱلۡعَذَابِ يُذَبِّحُونَ أَبۡنَآءَكُمۡ وَيَسۡتَحۡيُونَ نِسَآءَكُمۡۚ وَفِي ذَٰلِكُم بَلَآءٞ مِّن رَّبِّكُمۡ عَظِيمٞ ﴾
[البَقَرَة: 49]
﴿وإذ نجيناكم من آل فرعون يسومونكم سوء العذاب يذبحون أبناءكم ويستحيون نساءكم﴾ [البَقَرَة: 49]
| Dr Kamal Omar And (remember the time) when We delivered you from the followers of Firaun (Pharaoh) — they afflict you with grievous torment, they slaughter your sons and spare your women; and in that (is) a great trial from your Nourisher-Sustainer |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar And mention when We delivered you from the people of Pharaoh who cause an affliction to befall you of a dire punishment. They slaughter your children and save alive your women. And in that there is a tremendous trial from your Lord |
| Dr Munir Munshey And (remember) when We saved you from the people of the pharaoh? They persecuted you with the most horrendous torture. They slaughtered your sons, and spared your women. In that was a mighty grave trial from your Lord |
