﴿أَرَءَيۡتَ مَنِ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَٰهَهُۥ هَوَىٰهُ أَفَأَنتَ تَكُونُ عَلَيۡهِ وَكِيلًا ﴾
[الفُرقَان: 43]
﴿أرأيت من اتخذ إلهه هواه أفأنت تكون عليه وكيلا﴾ [الفُرقَان: 43]
Dr Kamal Omar Have you seen, who has taken as his ilah his own vain desire? Would then you become, to him, a wakil |
Dr Laleh Bakhtiar Hadst thou considered him who took to himself his own desires as his god? Wouldst thou, then, be over him a trustee |
Dr Munir Munshey Did you see the one who took his own wishes and whims as his god? Can you then, (accept to) be in charge of his affairs |
Edward Henry Palmer Dost thou consider him who takes his lusts for his god? wilt thou then be in charge over him |
Farook Malik Have you ever seen the one who has taken his own desires as his god? Would you take the responsibility of guiding him |
George Sale What thinkest thou? He who taketh his lust for his god; canst thou be his guardian |
Maududi Have you ever considered the case of the person who has made his lust his god? Can you take the responsibility of guiding such a one aright |
