﴿إِذۡ قَالَ ٱللَّهُ يَٰعِيسَىٰٓ إِنِّي مُتَوَفِّيكَ وَرَافِعُكَ إِلَيَّ وَمُطَهِّرُكَ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَجَاعِلُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُوكَ فَوۡقَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْ إِلَىٰ يَوۡمِ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِۖ ثُمَّ إِلَيَّ مَرۡجِعُكُمۡ فَأَحۡكُمُ بَيۡنَكُمۡ فِيمَا كُنتُمۡ فِيهِ تَخۡتَلِفُونَ ﴾
[آل عِمران: 55]
﴿إذ قال الله ياعيسى إني متوفيك ورافعك إلي ومطهرك من الذين كفروا﴾ [آل عِمران: 55]
| Dr Kamal Omar Behold! Allah said: “O Iesa! Certainly I am the Giver of death to you and the Raiser of you towards Me and the Protector to you against those who rejected (you), and the Maintainer of those who have followed you above and higher to those who have rejected (you) — till the Day of Resurrection. Afterwards, towards Me is your returning place, then I will pronounce judgement between you people in whatever you used to create differences of opinion |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar Mention when God said: O Jesus! I will be One Who Gathers thee and One Who Elevates thee to Myself and One Who Purifies thee from those who were ungrateful, and One Who Makes those who followed thee above those who were ungrateful until the Day of Resurrection. Again, you will return to Me. Then, I will give judgment between you about what you had been at variance in it |
| Dr Munir Munshey (Remember) when Allah said, "Oh Jesus, I am certainly going to recall (and receive) you, and raise you towards Myself. I will rid you of (the filthy environment and) those who disbelieve (in you). Until the Day of Judgment, I will place those who follow you over and above those who disbelieve (in you). Eventually, towards Me you will all return. Then, I will decide and settle all matters of dispute between you |

I will make Thee die and take Thee up again to me and will clear thee of those who misbelieve, and will make those who follow thee above those who misbelieve, at the day of judgment, then to me is your return. I will decide between you concerning that wherein ye disagree |
| Farook Malik Allah said: "O Jesus! I am going to recall you (from your mission) and raise you up to Myself. I will clean you of those who rejected you and exalt your followers above the unbelievers until the Day of Resurrection; then to Me shall be your return and I shall judge those matters in which you have been disputing |
| George Sale When God said, O Jesus, verily I will cause thee to die, and I will take thee up unto me, and I will deliver thee from the unbelievers; and I will place those who follow thee, above the unbelievers, until the day of resurrection: Then unto me shall ye return, and I will judge between you of that concerning which ye disagree |
| Maududi (And it was part of His scheme) when Allah said: ´O Jesus! I will recall you and raise you up to Me and will purify you (of the company) of those who disbelieve, and will set your followers above the unbelievers till the Day of Resurrection. Then to Me you shall return, and I will judge between you regarding what you differed |
