﴿فَذُوقُواْ بِمَا نَسِيتُمۡ لِقَآءَ يَوۡمِكُمۡ هَٰذَآ إِنَّا نَسِينَٰكُمۡۖ وَذُوقُواْ عَذَابَ ٱلۡخُلۡدِ بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ ﴾
[السَّجدة: 14]
﴿فذوقوا بما نسيتم لقاء يومكم هذا إنا نسيناكم وذوقوا عذاب الخلد بما﴾ [السَّجدة: 14]
| Dr Kamal Omar Then taste you because of your forgetting the meeting of this Day of yours; indeed, We also forgot you (like-wise). And now taste the lasting punishment for what you used to do |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar Then, experience it. As you forgot the meeting of this Day of yours, truly, We forgot you. And experience the infinite punishment for what you had been doing |
| Dr Munir Munshey Taste (this torment). You forgot the meeting of this day, and so today, We too will forget you! Taste the permanent punishment in return for what you used to do |

| George Sale Taste therefore the torment prepared for you, because ye have forgotten the coming of this your day: We also have forgotten you; taste therefore a punishment of eternal duration, for that which ye have wrought |
| Maududi So taste the chastisement on account of your forgetting the encounter of this Day. We, too, have forgotten you. Taste the eternal chastisement as a requital for your misdeeds |
