﴿مِّنَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ رِجَالٞ صَدَقُواْ مَا عَٰهَدُواْ ٱللَّهَ عَلَيۡهِۖ فَمِنۡهُم مَّن قَضَىٰ نَحۡبَهُۥ وَمِنۡهُم مَّن يَنتَظِرُۖ وَمَا بَدَّلُواْ تَبۡدِيلٗا ﴾
[الأحزَاب: 23]
﴿من المؤمنين رجال صدقوا ما عاهدوا الله عليه فمنهم من قضى نحبه﴾ [الأحزَاب: 23]
Dr Kamal Omar Among the Believers are men who remained true wherewith they made a covenant with Allah. So of them is that who fulfilled his obligation, and of them (is) one who awaits (of a chance of giving a direct fight to the disbelievers or getting martyred in the encounter). And they did not change (to any undesirable) change-over |
Dr Laleh Bakhtiar Among the ones who believe are men who were sincere in the contracts they made with God. Of them are some who satisfied by fulfilling their vow with death and of them are some who wait awhile. And they substituted not any substitution |
Dr Munir Munshey Among the believers are men who have made good on their promise with Allah. Some of them have redeemed their pledges (and have been martyred), others await their turn. There has not been any change (in their determination) at all |

Maududi Among the believers there are those who have remained true to the covenant they made with Allah. Among those some of them have fulfilled their vow and others await the appointed time. They have not changed in the least |
