﴿لِّيَسۡـَٔلَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ عَن صِدۡقِهِمۡۚ وَأَعَدَّ لِلۡكَٰفِرِينَ عَذَابًا أَلِيمٗا ﴾
[الأحزَاب: 8]
﴿ليسأل الصادقين عن صدقهم وأعد للكافرين عذابا أليما﴾ [الأحزَاب: 8]
| Dr Kamal Omar so that He may ask the Truthfuls (Allah’s Prophets and Messengers) about their truth (i.e., , the extent of their sincerity and efforts in preaching the Message of Allah). And He has prepared for the disbelievers a painful torment |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar so that He ask the ones who are sincere about their sincerity. He prepared for the ones who are ungrateful a painful punishment |
| Dr Munir Munshey So that He may question the faithful about their truth. He has prepared a painful punishment for the unbelievers |
| Edward Henry Palmer that He might ask the truth-tellers of their truth. But He has prepared for those who misbelieve a grievous woe |
| Farook Malik so that He may question the truthful concerning the Truth (that they were entrusted with): as for the unbelievers, He has prepared a painful punishment |
| George Sale that God may examine the speakers of truth concerning their veracity: And He hath prepared a painful torment for the unbelievers |
| Maududi so that (their Lord) may question the truthful about their truthfulness. As for the unbelievers, He has kept a painful chastisement in store for them |
