﴿وَٱنطَلَقَ ٱلۡمَلَأُ مِنۡهُمۡ أَنِ ٱمۡشُواْ وَٱصۡبِرُواْ عَلَىٰٓ ءَالِهَتِكُمۡۖ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَشَيۡءٞ يُرَادُ ﴾
[صٓ: 6]
﴿وانطلق الملأ منهم أن امشوا واصبروا على آلهتكم إن هذا لشيء يراد﴾ [صٓ: 6]
| Dr Kamal Omar And the leaders from among them moved away (disappointed, saying among themselves) that: “Get away, and remain constant to your aaliha. Verily, this (concept of One God) is indeed a thing designed (against us) |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar And the Council set out from them, saying: Be gone! And have patience with your gods. Truly, this is a thing to be wanted |
| Dr Munir Munshey Their chiefs go about saying, "Go home and hold on to your gods staunchly. This thing is (purposely) designed (against you) |
| Edward Henry Palmer And the chiefs of them went away: 'Go on and persevere in your gods; this is a thing designed |

| Maududi And the elders among them went forth saying: "Go ahead and be steadfast in adhering to your deities. What is being said is with a design |
