﴿مَنۡ عَمِلَ سَيِّئَةٗ فَلَا يُجۡزَىٰٓ إِلَّا مِثۡلَهَاۖ وَمَنۡ عَمِلَ صَٰلِحٗا مِّن ذَكَرٍ أَوۡ أُنثَىٰ وَهُوَ مُؤۡمِنٞ فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ يَدۡخُلُونَ ٱلۡجَنَّةَ يُرۡزَقُونَ فِيهَا بِغَيۡرِ حِسَابٖ ﴾
[غَافِر: 40]
﴿من عمل سيئة فلا يجزى إلا مثلها ومن عمل صالحا من ذكر﴾ [غَافِر: 40]
Dr Kamal Omar Whosoever acted evil, so he will not be rewarded except the like thereof; and whosoever acted righteousness, whether being out of male or female, and he is (also) a Believer — then those people will enter Paradise. They will be provided provision therein without measure |
Dr Laleh Bakhtiar Whoever did an evil deed will not be given recompense but the like of it. But whoever did as one in accord with morality, whether male or female, and such is one who believes, then, those will enter the Garden where they will be provided in it without reckoning |
Dr Munir Munshey The punishment of the one who does evil would only be equal to _ (and would not exceed) _ the nature (and the severity) of his sin. On the other hand, the men and women who perform the righteous deeds _ provided they are the believers _ would surely be the ones entering paradise. They would be granted abundant (infinite and endless) bounties without reckoning |
Edward Henry Palmer Whoso does evil, he shall only be recompensed with the like thereof , and whoso does right, be it male or female and a believer, these shall enter into Paradise; they shall be provided therein without count |

George Sale Whoever worketh evil, shall only be rewarded in equal proportion to the same: But whoever worketh good, whether male or female, and is a true believer, they shall enter paradise; they shall be provided for therein superabundantly |
Maududi Whosoever does an evil deed will be requited only with the like of it; and whosoever acts righteously and has attained to faith ? be he a male or a female ? they shall enter Paradise and be provided sustenance beyond all reckoning |
