﴿مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِۖ قَالُواْ ضَلُّواْ عَنَّا بَل لَّمۡ نَكُن نَّدۡعُواْ مِن قَبۡلُ شَيۡـٔٗاۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يُضِلُّ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ ﴾
[غَافِر: 74]
﴿من دون الله قالوا ضلوا عنا بل لم نكن ندعوا من قبل﴾ [غَافِر: 74]
| Dr Kamal Omar besides Allah?” They said: “They have vanished from us. Nay, we did not use to invoke any thing in previous (world).” Thus Allah allows the disbelievers to lose the track |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar other than God? They would say: They went astray from us. Nay! We be not calling to anything before. Thus, God causes to go astray ones who are ungrateful |
| Dr Munir Munshey Instead of Allah?" They will reply, "They have all ceased to exist _ vanished! Actually, earlier, we never really prayed to anything at all." In this manner, Allah lets the unbelievers go astray |
| Edward Henry Palmer beside God?' They shall say, 'They have strayed away from us; nay, we did not call before upon anything!' - thus does God lead the misbelievers astray |
| Farook Malik besides Allah?" They will answer: "They have forsaken us, now we have come to know that those to whom we used to invoke, were in fact nothing." Thus Allah confounds the disbelievers |
| George Sale besides God? They shall answer, they have withdrawn themselves from us: Yea, we called on nothing heretofore. Thus doth God lead the unbelievers into error |
| Maududi associated with Allah in His Divinity?" They will say: "We have lost them; rather, we never used to call upon anyone before." Thus will Allah cause them to stumble in error |
