Quran with Tafsir_English translation - Surah Fussilat ayat 25 - فُصِّلَت - Page - Juz 24
﴿۞ وَقَيَّضۡنَا لَهُمۡ قُرَنَآءَ فَزَيَّنُواْ لَهُم مَّا بَيۡنَ أَيۡدِيهِمۡ وَمَا خَلۡفَهُمۡ وَحَقَّ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡقَوۡلُ فِيٓ أُمَمٖ قَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِن قَبۡلِهِم مِّنَ ٱلۡجِنِّ وَٱلۡإِنسِۖ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ خَٰسِرِينَ ﴾
[فُصِّلَت: 25]
﴿وقيضنا لهم قرناء فزينوا لهم ما بين أيديهم وما خلفهم وحق عليهم﴾ [فُصِّلَت: 25]
| Dr Kamal Omar And We have assigned them (devils as) intimate companions (in this world), so they have made fair-seeming to them what is between their hands (i.e., in front of them) and what is behind them (i.e., , what awaits them); and the decree against them has become true (just like) in communities that surely passed before them out of Jinns and mankind. Indeed they were losers |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar And We allotted for them comrades who were made to appear pleasing to them whatever was before them and whatever was behind them. And the saying was realized against them in communities that passed away before them of jinn and humankind. Truly, they, they had been ones who are losers |
| Dr Munir Munshey (In the life of this world), We assigned them friends who made their past and the present _that which was behind them as well as that which was before them _ seem glamorous to them. Thus the verdict became justified for all the generations that had lived prior to them, all the jinn and the human kind. Indeed, they were all losers |
| Edward Henry Palmer We will allot to them mates, for they have made seemly to them what was before them and what was behind them; and due against them was the sentence on the nations who passed away before them; both of ginns and of mankind; verily, they were the losers |
| Farook Malik We have assigned intimate companions, of like nature, for them Who make their past and present seem fair to them; and the same word (sentence of punishment) proved true against them, which overtook generations of jinn and men who have gone before them, that they shall surely be in loss |
| George Sale And We will give them the devils to be their companions; for they dressed up for them the false notions which they entertained of this present world, and of that which is to come; and the sentence justly fitteth them, which was formerly pronounced on the nations of genii and men who were before them; for they perished |
| Maududi We had assigned to them companions who embellished for them all that was before them and behind them. Thus the same decree (of chastisement) which had overtaken the previous generations of jinn and human beings (also) became due against them. Surely they became the losers |
