﴿وَقَالُواْ قُلُوبُنَا فِيٓ أَكِنَّةٖ مِّمَّا تَدۡعُونَآ إِلَيۡهِ وَفِيٓ ءَاذَانِنَا وَقۡرٞ وَمِنۢ بَيۡنِنَا وَبَيۡنِكَ حِجَابٞ فَٱعۡمَلۡ إِنَّنَا عَٰمِلُونَ ﴾
[فُصِّلَت: 5]
﴿وقالوا قلوبنا في أكنة مما تدعونا إليه وفي آذاننا وقر ومن بيننا﴾ [فُصِّلَت: 5]
| Dr Kamal Omar And they said: “Our hearts are under coverings against that to which you invite us; and in our ears is a blockage; and between us and between you is a barrier. So carry on your deeds, surely we are those who act (according to our inclinations and knowledge).” |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar And they said: Our hearts are sheathed from that to which thou hast called us and in our ears is a heaviness and between us and between thee is a partition. So work. Truly, we, too, are ones who work |
