﴿۞ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَكُمُ ٱلۡبَحۡرَ لِتَجۡرِيَ ٱلۡفُلۡكُ فِيهِ بِأَمۡرِهِۦ وَلِتَبۡتَغُواْ مِن فَضۡلِهِۦ وَلَعَلَّكُمۡ تَشۡكُرُونَ ﴾
[الجاثِية: 12]
﴿الله الذي سخر لكم البحر لتجري الفلك فيه بأمره ولتبتغوا من فضله﴾ [الجاثِية: 12]
Dr Kamal Omar Allah is He Who controlled and regulated for you the sea so that the ship may sail through it under His Command; and that you may seek of His Bounty, and that you may pay thanks |
Dr Laleh Bakhtiar God! It is He Who caused the sea to be subservient to you that the boats may run through it by His command and so that you be looking for His grace and so that perhaps you will give thanks |
Dr Munir Munshey It is Allah Who has calmed the oceans for you, in order to let the ships sail through them by His command, and so that you may seek His blessings. Perhaps you would express gratitude |
Edward Henry Palmer God it is who subjects to you the sea that the ships may sail thereon at his bidding, and that ye may crave of His grace, and that haply ye may give thanks |

Maududi Allah it is Who has subjected the sea to you so that ships may sail upon it at His bidding and you may seek of His Bounty and give thanks to Him |
