﴿وَإِذۡ صَرَفۡنَآ إِلَيۡكَ نَفَرٗا مِّنَ ٱلۡجِنِّ يَسۡتَمِعُونَ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ فَلَمَّا حَضَرُوهُ قَالُوٓاْ أَنصِتُواْۖ فَلَمَّا قُضِيَ وَلَّوۡاْ إِلَىٰ قَوۡمِهِم مُّنذِرِينَ ﴾
[الأحقَاف: 29]
﴿وإذ صرفنا إليك نفرا من الجن يستمعون القرآن فلما حضروه قالوا أنصتوا﴾ [الأحقَاف: 29]
Dr Kamal Omar And when We diverted towards you Nafaran (a group of three to ten individuals) of the jinns: they listen to the Al-Quran. When they stood in the presence thereof, they said: “Be silent”! So when (the recitation) got completed, they went back to their nation as warners |
Dr Laleh Bakhtiar And when We turned away from thee groups of men or jinn who listen to the Quran, when they found themselves in its presence, they said: Pay heed. And when it was finished, they turned to their folk, ones who warn |
Dr Munir Munshey And recall the time (oh Muhammad, SAW) when We turned a small group of jinn towards you to hear the Qur´an (being recited). As they came closer, they said (to each other), "Be quiet and listen attentively." When the recitation ended they went back to their people to warn them |

George Sale Remember when We caused certain of the genii to turn aside unto thee, that they might hear the Koran: And when they were present at the reading of the same, they said to one another, give ear: And when it was ended, they returned back unto their people, preaching what they had heard |
Maududi And call to mind when We sent to you a party of the jinn that they may listen to the Qur´an. When they reached the place (where you were reciting the Qur´an), they said to one another: "Be silent (and listen)." And when the recitation ended, they went back to their people as warners |
