﴿إِن يَسۡـَٔلۡكُمُوهَا فَيُحۡفِكُمۡ تَبۡخَلُواْ وَيُخۡرِجۡ أَضۡغَٰنَكُمۡ ﴾
[مُحمد: 37]
﴿إن يسألكموها فيحفكم تبخلوا ويخرج أضغانكم﴾ [مُحمد: 37]
Dr Kamal Omar If He will ask you for that, then (also) pressurise you — you would covetously withhold and (thus) He will expose your ill-wills (and undesirable intentions) |
Dr Laleh Bakhtiar When He asks it of you and, then, urges persistently, you would be a miser and He will bring out your rancor |
Dr Munir Munshey If He demands your wealth and continues to do so, you will be stingy and He will expose your weaknesses |
Edward Henry Palmer He does not ask you for (all) your property; if He were to ask you for it and to press you, ye would be niggardly, and he would bring your malice out |
Farook Malik If He were to demand all of your possessions and press you for it, you would grow stingy, and He would bring out all your malice |
George Sale If He should require the whole of you, and earnestly press you, ye would become niggardly, and it would raise your hatred against his apostle |
Maududi If He were to ask you for your possessions and press you (in that regard), you would have grown niggardly, and Allah would have brought your failings to light |
