﴿قَالُواْ نُرِيدُ أَن نَّأۡكُلَ مِنۡهَا وَتَطۡمَئِنَّ قُلُوبُنَا وَنَعۡلَمَ أَن قَدۡ صَدَقۡتَنَا وَنَكُونَ عَلَيۡهَا مِنَ ٱلشَّٰهِدِينَ ﴾
[المَائدة: 113]
﴿قالوا نريد أن نأكل منها وتطمئن قلوبنا ونعلم أن قد صدقتنا ونكون﴾ [المَائدة: 113]
Dr Kamal Omar They said: “We intend that we eat thereof and our hearts may find solace (therewith) and we may know that surely you spoke the truth to us and we may (thus) become, over it, (as) witnesses.” |
Dr Laleh Bakhtiar They said: We want that we eat of it so that our hearts be at rest and we know that thou, surely, wast sincere to us and that we be the ones who bear witness to that |
Dr Munir Munshey They said, "We wish to eat such a meal so that our minds may rest easy and we may know (for sure) that you had told us the truth. So that we may bear witness to that (sign) |
Edward Henry Palmer and they said, 'We desire to eat therefrom that our hearts may be at rest, and that we may know that what thou hast told us is the truth, and that we may be thereby amongst the witnesses |
