﴿قَالُواْ يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ إِنَّ فِيهَا قَوۡمٗا جَبَّارِينَ وَإِنَّا لَن نَّدۡخُلَهَا حَتَّىٰ يَخۡرُجُواْ مِنۡهَا فَإِن يَخۡرُجُواْ مِنۡهَا فَإِنَّا دَٰخِلُونَ ﴾
[المَائدة: 22]
﴿قالوا ياموسى إن فيها قوما جبارين وإنا لن ندخلها حتى يخرجوا منها﴾ [المَائدة: 22]
| Dr Kamal Omar They said: “O Musa! Therein is a nation of strictly adamant people, and surely, we shall never enter it until they come out of it. So if they come out of it, then surely we (become) those who enter.” |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar They said: O Moses! Truly, in it is a haughty folk and we will never enter it until they go forth from it, but if they go forth from it, then, we will, certainly, be ones who enter |
| Dr Munir Munshey They said, "Oh Musa! A mighty people _ (sturdy and savage) _ live there. We will not enter that land unless they depart from there. Once they leave, then of course we will go into that land |

| George Sale They answered, O Moses, verily there are a gigantic people in the land; and we will by no means enter it, until they depart thence; but if they depart thence, then will we enter therein |
| Maududi They answered: ´Moses, therein live a ferocious people: we will not enter unless they depart from it; but if they do depart from it then we will surely enter it.´ |
