﴿لَقَدۡ كَفَرَ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلۡمَسِيحُ ٱبۡنُ مَرۡيَمَۖ وَقَالَ ٱلۡمَسِيحُ يَٰبَنِيٓ إِسۡرَٰٓءِيلَ ٱعۡبُدُواْ ٱللَّهَ رَبِّي وَرَبَّكُمۡۖ إِنَّهُۥ مَن يُشۡرِكۡ بِٱللَّهِ فَقَدۡ حَرَّمَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيۡهِ ٱلۡجَنَّةَ وَمَأۡوَىٰهُ ٱلنَّارُۖ وَمَا لِلظَّٰلِمِينَ مِنۡ أَنصَارٖ ﴾
[المَائدة: 72]
﴿لقد كفر الذين قالوا إن الله هو المسيح ابن مريم وقال المسيح﴾ [المَائدة: 72]
| Dr Kamal Omar Surely, have disbelieved those who said: “Certainly Allah is He (who is) Al-Maseeh, Ibn-o-Maryam.” And Al-Maseeh said: “O Bani Israiel! Pay obedience to Allah, Nourisher-Sustainer to me and Nourisher-Sustainer to you. Certainly it (is that) whosoever sets up partners with Allah, then certainly Allah has forbidden for him the Paradise and his abode is the Fire. And for the Zalimun there is not (any one) out of the helpers |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar And, certainly, were ungrateful those who said: Truly, God is He, the Messiah, son of Mary, but the Messiah said: O Children of Israel! Worship God, my Lord and your Lord. Truly, whoever ascribes partners with God, then, surely, God forbade the Garden to him. And his place of shelter will be the fire. And for the ones who are unjust, there are no helpers |
| Dr Munir Munshey Those who say, ´Allah is actually Christ, son of Mary´ have most certainly committed a blasphemy. Christ had said, "Oh children of Israel worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord! In fact Allah has banned paradise for anyone who associates partners with Allah. Fire shall be his abode. The evildoers shall have no helpers |
| Edward Henry Palmer They misbelieve who say, 'Verily, God is the Messiah the son of Mary;' but the Messiah said, 'O children of Israel! worship God, my Lord and your Lord;' verily, he who associates aught with God, God hath forbidden him Paradise, and his resort is the Fire, and the unjust shall have none to help them |
| Farook Malik Certainly they have disbelieved who say: "Allah is Christ the son of Mary." While Christ himself said: "O children of Israel! Worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." Whoever commits shirk (joins partners with Allah), Allah will deny him the paradise, and the hellfire will be his home. There will be no helper for the wrongdoers |
| George Sale They are surely infidels, who say, verily God is Christ the son of Mary; since Christ said, O children of Israel, serve God, my Lord and your Lord; whoever shall give a companion unto God, God shall exclude him from paradise, and his habitation shall be hell fire; and the ungodly shall have none to help them |
