Quran with Tafsir_English translation - Surah Al-An‘am ayat 111 - الأنعَام - Page - Juz 8

Had We sent down angels whom they could perceive by sight and resurrected for them the dead to discourse with them practical divinity, and thronged before their eyes, beings, matters and affairs of the spiritual world, they would not have acknowledged the truth nor would they have conformed to Islam unless it be the will of Allah. But most of them are so ignorant to realize this fact

Dr Kamal Omar
And even if We, We had sent down unto them the angels, and the dead had spoken unto them, and We have gathered before them all things face to face, they did not become that they might Believe except that Allah wills (it) — rather most of them behave ignorantly
Dr Laleh Bakhtiar
And even if We sent down the angels to them and the dead spoke to them and we assembled everything against them, face to face, yet they would not believe unless God wills, except many of them are ignorant
Dr Munir Munshey
Even if We send angels towards them (as messengers), or cause the dead to speak to them (plainly), or present all the (unseen) things right before their eyes, they would still not believe _ unless (of course) Allah wills it so. Most of them act ignorantly
Edward Henry Palmer
And had we sent down unto them the angels, or the dead had spoken to them, or we had gathered everything unto them in hosts, they would not have believed unless that God pleased - but most of them are ignorant
Farook Malik
Even if We had sent to them the angels, made the dead speak to them, and presented all the different things of the world before them as proof, they would have not believed, unless Allah wanted otherwise (and forcing someone to believe is not what He wants): Yet most of them act out of ignorance
George Sale
And though We had sent down angels unto them, and the dead had spoken unto them, and We had gathered together before them all things in one view; they would not have believed, unless God had so pleased: But the greater part of them know it not
Maududi
Even if We had sent angels down to them and the dead had spoken to them, and even if We had assembled before them all the things, face to face, they would still not believe unless it be Allah´s will that they believe. Most of them behave in utter ignorance
