Quran with Tafsir_English translation - Surah Al-An‘am ayat 124 - الأنعَام - Page - Juz 8
﴿وَإِذَا جَآءَتۡهُمۡ ءَايَةٞ قَالُواْ لَن نُّؤۡمِنَ حَتَّىٰ نُؤۡتَىٰ مِثۡلَ مَآ أُوتِيَ رُسُلُ ٱللَّهِۘ ٱللَّهُ أَعۡلَمُ حَيۡثُ يَجۡعَلُ رِسَالَتَهُۥۗ سَيُصِيبُ ٱلَّذِينَ أَجۡرَمُواْ صَغَارٌ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَعَذَابٞ شَدِيدُۢ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَمۡكُرُونَ ﴾
[الأنعَام: 124]
﴿وإذا جاءتهم آية قالوا لن نؤمن حتى نؤتى مثل ما أوتي رسل﴾ [الأنعَام: 124]
| Dr Kamal Omar And when (there) came to them an Ayat they said: “Never we shall Believe until we are given similar to what has been given to the Messengers of Allah.” Allah Knows better where He places His Message. Soon shall reach to those who have done crimes, humiliation and disgrace in the Sight of Allah and a severe punishment for what they used to plot (as mischief) |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar And when a sign drew near them they said: We will not believe until we are given the like of what was given to Messengers of God.• God is greater in knowledge where to assign His message. On those who sinned will light contempt from God and a severe punishment for what they had been planning |
| Dr Munir Munshey When a verse comes to them (from Allah) they say, "We will not believe unless we are given the kind (of sign) that the messengers of Allah were given." Allah knows best upon whom to bestow His message. Disgrace and humiliation before Allah, and a torment, will soon strike the criminals because of their scheming designs |
| Edward Henry Palmer And when there comes to them a sign, they say, 'We will not believe until we are brought like what the apostles were brought;' God knows best where to put His message. There shall befall those who sin, meanness in God's eyes, and grievous torment for the craft they used |
| Farook Malik Whenever there comes to them a sign (verses of The Qur'an) they say: "We shall not believe until we are given directly that which is given to the Messengers of Allah." Allah knows best to whom He should give His Message. Soon these criminals will be overtaken by humiliation and by a severe punishment from Allah for their evil plots |
| George Sale And when a sign cometh unto them, they say, we will by no means believe until a revelation be brought unto us, like unto that which hath been delivered unto the messengers of God. God best knoweth whom He will appoint for his messenger. Vileness in the sight of God shall fall upon those who deal wickedly, and a grievous punishment, for that they have dealt deceitfully |
| Maududi Whenever there comes to them a sign from Allah, they say: ´We will not believe until we are given what was given to the Messengers of Allah.´ Allah knows best where to place His message. Soon shall these wicked ones meet with humiliation and severe chastigement from Allah for all their evil plotting |
