﴿وَإِذۡ قَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِقَوۡمِهِۦ يَٰقَوۡمِ لِمَ تُؤۡذُونَنِي وَقَد تَّعۡلَمُونَ أَنِّي رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ إِلَيۡكُمۡۖ فَلَمَّا زَاغُوٓاْ أَزَاغَ ٱللَّهُ قُلُوبَهُمۡۚ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يَهۡدِي ٱلۡقَوۡمَ ٱلۡفَٰسِقِينَ ﴾
[الصَّف: 5]
﴿وإذ قال موسى لقومه ياقوم لم تؤذونني وقد تعلمون أني رسول الله﴾ [الصَّف: 5]
| Dr Kamal Omar And (bring to mind) when Musa said to his nation: “O my nation! Why do you hurt me, although indeed you know that I am Rusulullah (Messenger of Allah) to you?” So when they became hard (in their attitude), Allah made their hearts hard (and unreceptive). And Allah does not guide the nation of Al-Fasiqun |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar And when Moses said to his folk: O my folk! Why malign me while, surely, you know that I am the Messenger of God to you? So when they swerved, God caused their hearts to swerve. And God guides not the folk, the ones who disobey |
| Dr Munir Munshey (Remember), when Musa said to his people, "Oh my people, why do you annoy and irritate me? You already know that I am really the messenger of Allah for you!" (But) when they deviated (from the truth), Allah made their hearts turn further away (from the truth). Allah does not guide the sinful people |

| Farook Malik Remember what Moses said to his people: "O my people! Why do you vex me while you know that I am the Messenger of Allah towards you?" But in spite of this when they adopted perverseness, Allah let their hearts be perverted. Allah does not guide those who are transgressors |
| George Sale Remember when Moses said unto his people, O my people, why do ye injure me; since ye know that I am the apostle of God sent unto you? And when they had deviated from the truth, God made their hearts to deviate from the right way; for God directeth not wicked people |
| Maududi And call to mind when Moses said to his people: "O my people, why do you torment me when you know well that I am Allah´s Messenger to you?" So when they deviated, Allah made their hearts deviant. Allah does not direct the evil-doers to the Right Way |
