﴿يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ إِذَا نُودِيَ لِلصَّلَوٰةِ مِن يَوۡمِ ٱلۡجُمُعَةِ فَٱسۡعَوۡاْ إِلَىٰ ذِكۡرِ ٱللَّهِ وَذَرُواْ ٱلۡبَيۡعَۚ ذَٰلِكُمۡ خَيۡرٞ لَّكُمۡ إِن كُنتُمۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ ﴾
[الجُمعَة: 9]
﴿ياأيها الذين آمنوا إذا نودي للصلاة من يوم الجمعة فاسعوا إلى ذكر﴾ [الجُمعَة: 9]
| Dr Kamal Omar O you who have Believed! When the call is proclaimed for As-Salat (the Prayer) in a portion of Youmul Jumu’ah (The Day of the congregation), then proceed quickly to Zikr (Message) of Allah and interrupt the trade, business or commerce. This unto you is better for you if you had been knowing (the hidden benefit) |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar O those who believed! When the formal prayer was proclaimed on the day of congregation, then, hasten about to the Remembrance of God and forsake trading. That is better for you if you had been knowing |
| Dr Munir Munshey Oh you who believe! On Friday, when the call sounds for the (congregational) prayers, rush towards it and halt all trade (and business) activity. That is better for you, if you only knew |
| Edward Henry Palmer O ye who believe! when the call to prayer is made upon the Congregation Day, then hasten to the remembrance of God, and leave off traffic; that is better for you, if ye did but know |
