﴿إِذَا جَآءَكَ ٱلۡمُنَٰفِقُونَ قَالُواْ نَشۡهَدُ إِنَّكَ لَرَسُولُ ٱللَّهِۗ وَٱللَّهُ يَعۡلَمُ إِنَّكَ لَرَسُولُهُۥ وَٱللَّهُ يَشۡهَدُ إِنَّ ٱلۡمُنَٰفِقِينَ لَكَٰذِبُونَ ﴾
[المُنَافِقُونَ: 1]
﴿إذا جاءك المنافقون قالوا نشهد إنك لرسول الله والله يعلم إنك لرسوله﴾ [المُنَافِقُونَ: 1]
| Dr Kamal Omar When the hypocrites approached you, they said: “We bear witness, surely you are indeed Messenger of Allah.” And Allah Knows, surely you are indeed His Messenger, and Allah bears witness, surely the hypocrites are indeed liars |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar When the ones who are hypocrites drew near thee. They said: We bear witness that thou art, truly, the Messenger of God. And God knows that thou art, truly, His Messenger and God bears witness that the ones who are hypocrites are ones who lie |
| Dr Munir Munshey (Oh prophet), when the hypocrites come to you, they say, "We bear witness that you really are the messenger of Allah." Of course, Allah knows you are His messenger; (but) Allah affirms that the hypocrites are really the liars |

| George Sale When the hypocrites come unto thee, they say, we bear witness that thou art indeed the apostle of God. And God knoweth that thou art indeed his apostle: But God beareth witness that the hypocrites are certainly liars |
| Maududi (O Prophet), when the hypocrites come to you, they say: "We bear witness that you are certainly Allah´s Messenger." Allah certainly knows that you are His Messenger. But Allah also bears witness that the hypocrites are utter liars |
