﴿فَرِيقًا هَدَىٰ وَفَرِيقًا حَقَّ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلضَّلَٰلَةُۚ إِنَّهُمُ ٱتَّخَذُواْ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينَ أَوۡلِيَآءَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَيَحۡسَبُونَ أَنَّهُم مُّهۡتَدُونَ ﴾
[الأعرَاف: 30]
﴿فريقا هدى وفريقا حق عليهم الضلالة إنهم اتخذوا الشياطين أولياء من دون﴾ [الأعرَاف: 30]
| Dr Kamal Omar A group He has guided and (another) group: ' ignorance and straying ' is proved against them. They picked up Satans as (their) ‘auliya’ instead of Allah, and they assess that they are guided ones |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar He guided a group of people and a group of people realized their fallacy. Truly, they took satans to themselves as protectors instead of God and they assume that they are ones who are truly guided |
| Dr Munir Munshey One group He has guided. Misguidance became the lot of the other group. (Because), they accepted Shaitans to be their patrons and protectors instead of Allah! And they believe that they are on the right path |
| Edward Henry Palmer A sect He guides, and for a sect of them was error due; verily, they did take the devils for their patrons instead of God, and they did count that they were guided |
| Farook Malik To one group He has guided while the other group deserved to be left in error due to their own choice; for they took the Satans for their protectors instead of Allah, yet they think that they are guided |
| George Sale A part of mankind hath He directed; and a part hath been justly led into error, because they have taken the devils for their patrons besides God, and imagine that they are rightly directed |
| Maududi A party He has guided to the Right Way, and for another party straying is justly its due for they have taken satans, rather than Allah, as their guardians, even though they think that they are rightly-guided |
