﴿۞ يَٰبَنِيٓ ءَادَمَ خُذُواْ زِينَتَكُمۡ عِندَ كُلِّ مَسۡجِدٖ وَكُلُواْ وَٱشۡرَبُواْ وَلَا تُسۡرِفُوٓاْۚ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلۡمُسۡرِفِينَ ﴾
[الأعرَاف: 31]
﴿يابني آدم خذوا زينتكم عند كل مسجد وكلوا واشربوا ولا تسرفوا إنه﴾ [الأعرَاف: 31]
| Dr Kamal Omar O Bani Adam! Carefully adopt your decency (in your hygiene, adornment and dress and general get-up of your personality and figure) at all mosques, and eat and drink and commit not extravagance. Certainly He does not like those who indulge in extravagance |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar O Children of Adam! Take your adornment at every place of prostration. And eat and drink, but exceed not all bounds. Truly, He loves not the ones who are excessive |
| Dr Munir Munshey Oh children of Adam! At every place of worship, wear your (best clothes as) adornments. Eat and drink but do not waste. In fact, He does not like those who are wasteful |

| Maududi Children of Adam! Take your adornment at every time of Prayer; and eat and drink without going to excesses. For Allah does not like those who go to excess |
