﴿وَنَزَعۡنَا مَا فِي صُدُورِهِم مِّنۡ غِلّٖ تَجۡرِي مِن تَحۡتِهِمُ ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُۖ وَقَالُواْ ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِي هَدَىٰنَا لِهَٰذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لِنَهۡتَدِيَ لَوۡلَآ أَنۡ هَدَىٰنَا ٱللَّهُۖ لَقَدۡ جَآءَتۡ رُسُلُ رَبِّنَا بِٱلۡحَقِّۖ وَنُودُوٓاْ أَن تِلۡكُمُ ٱلۡجَنَّةُ أُورِثۡتُمُوهَا بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ ﴾
[الأعرَاف: 43]
﴿ونـزعنا ما في صدورهم من غل تجري من تحتهم الأنهار وقالوا الحمد﴾ [الأعرَاف: 43]
| Dr Kamal Omar And We removed what (was) in their breasts (i.e., in their hearts) as ghill, rivers run and flow underneath them and they said: “Selective Praise suits (Only) Allah, Who has guided us for this. And it was not (for) us that we could have become guided (of our own) were it not that Allah had guided us. Indeed, the Messengers of Our Nourisher-Sustainer did come with Al-Haqq. And an announcement was made to them that: “This is the Paradise which you have inherited for what you used to do (in your deeds, concepts and behaviour).” |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar And We will draw out what was in their breasts of grudges. And rivers will run beneath them. And they will say: The Praise belongs to God Who truly guided us to this! And we would not have been guided if God guided us not. Certainly, the Messengers of our Lord drew near us with The Truth. And it was proclaimed to them that this, the Garden, was given to you as inheritance for what you had been doing |
| Dr Munir Munshey We will strip away whatever rancor remains in their heart. Rivers shall flow under their feet. They will say, "All praise is for Allah Who guided us towards this. Never could we have found the right path, had Allah not guided us. The messengers of our Lord had brought us the truth." A voice will call out to them, "You have inherited this paradise as a reward for what you used to do |
| Edward Henry Palmer We will strip away what ill feeling is in their breasts - there shall flow beneath them rivers, and they shall say, 'Praise belongs to God who guided us to this! for we should not have been guided had not God guided us! - the apostles of our Lord did come to us with truth!' And it shall be cried out to them, 'This is Paradise which ye have as an inheritance for that which ye have done |
| Farook Malik We shall remove whatever ill-feeling they may have in their hearts against one another. Rivers will be flowing beneath them; and they will say: "Praise be to Allah Who guided us this way, we would have never found the Right Way if Allah had not guided us. The Messengers of our Lord have surely preached us the truth." At that time they will hear the announcement: "This is paradise, which you have inherited because of your good deeds |
| George Sale And we will remove all grudges from their minds; rivers shall run at their feet, and they shall say, praised be God, who hath directed us unto this felicity! For we should not have been rightly directed, if God had not directed us: Now are we convinced by demonstration that the apostles of our Lord came unto us with truth. And it shall be proclaimed unto them, this is paradise, whereof ye are made heirs, as a reward for that which ye have wrought |
| Maududi We shall strip away all rancour from their hearts, and rivers shall flow beneath them, and they shall say: ´All praise be to Allah Who has guided us on to this. Had it not been for Allah Who granted us guidance, we would not be on the Right Path. Surely the Messengers of our Lord did indeed come down with truth.´ Then a voice will cry out to them: ´This is the Paradise which you are made to inherit as a reward for your deeds.´ |
