﴿قَالَ ٱلۡمَلَأُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسۡتَكۡبَرُواْ مِن قَوۡمِهِۦ لِلَّذِينَ ٱسۡتُضۡعِفُواْ لِمَنۡ ءَامَنَ مِنۡهُمۡ أَتَعۡلَمُونَ أَنَّ صَٰلِحٗا مُّرۡسَلٞ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦۚ قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّا بِمَآ أُرۡسِلَ بِهِۦ مُؤۡمِنُونَ ﴾
[الأعرَاف: 75]
﴿قال الملأ الذين استكبروا من قومه للذين استضعفوا لمن آمن منهم أتعلمون﴾ [الأعرَاف: 75]
| Dr Kamal Omar The leaders of those who behaved in arrogance in his nation said to those who were regarded weak — to such who had Believed amongst them: “Do you regard that Salih is one sent from his Nourisher-Sustainer?” They (in reply) said: “We indeed are Believers in that with which he has been sent.” |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar Said the Council of those who grew arrogant among his folk to those who were taken advantage of due to their weakness, to those who believed among them: Know you that Salih is one who is sent from his Lord? They said: Truly, in what he was sent, we are ones who believe |
| Dr Munir Munshey The leaders of his nation who were arrogant and scornful, said to the believers among the down trodden and the despised, "Do you know for sure that Saleh is the messenger of Allah?" They replied, "We do believe in the message revealed to him |

| Farook Malik The arrogant leaders from his nation asked the oppressed among them who have believed: "Do you really believe that Saleh is a Messenger from his Lord?" They replied: "We do indeed believe in the revelation with which he has been sent |
| George Sale The chiefs among his people who were puffed up with pride, said unto those who were esteemed weak, namely, unto those who believed among them, do ye know that Saleh hath been sent from his Lord? They answered, we do surely believe in that wherewith he hath been sent |
| Maududi The haughty elders of his people said to those believers who had been oppressed: ´Do you know that Salih is one sent forth with a message from his Lord?´ They, replied: ´Surely we believe in the message with which he has been sent.´ |
