﴿وَٱذۡكُرُوٓاْ إِذۡ أَنتُمۡ قَلِيلٞ مُّسۡتَضۡعَفُونَ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ تَخَافُونَ أَن يَتَخَطَّفَكُمُ ٱلنَّاسُ فَـَٔاوَىٰكُمۡ وَأَيَّدَكُم بِنَصۡرِهِۦ وَرَزَقَكُم مِّنَ ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَشۡكُرُونَ ﴾
[الأنفَال: 26]
﴿واذكروا إذ أنتم قليل مستضعفون في الأرض تخافون أن يتخطفكم الناس فآواكم﴾ [الأنفَال: 26]
| Dr Kamal Omar And bring to mind when you are very few (and) are kept weak and persecuted in the land: you are in fear that people (in opposition to you) will kidnap you, so He provided a safe rendezvous to you, and assisted you with His Help and arranged you provisions out of At-Tayyibat so that you may be grateful |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar And remember when you were few, ones taken advantage of due to weakness on the earth. You fear humanity would snatch you away so He gave you refuge and confirmed you with His help and provided you with what is good so that perhaps you will give thanks |
| Dr Munir Munshey Remember, when you were fewer in number and considered weak and powerless in the world. You were afraid that people might (rout you and) sweep you away. But He provided you a safe haven. With His support, He strengthened you and gave you pure and wholesome provisions. Perhaps, you would be grateful |

| Maududi And recall when you were few in numbers and deemed weak in the land, fearful lest people do away with you. Then He provided you refuge, strengthened you with His help, and provided you sustenance with good things that you may be grateful |
