﴿قَالَ لَمۡ أَكُن لِّأَسۡجُدَ لِبَشَرٍ خَلَقۡتَهُۥ مِن صَلۡصَٰلٖ مِّنۡ حَمَإٖ مَّسۡنُونٖ ﴾
[الحِجر: 33]
﴿قال لم أكن لأسجد لبشر خلقته من صلصال من حمإ مسنون﴾ [الحِجر: 33]
| Mohammad Habib Shakir He said: I am not such that I should make obeisance to a mortal whom Thou hast created of the essence of black mud fashioned in shape |
| Mohammad Shafi Iblees said, "I am not the one to prostrate to a man whom You have created of clay, of moulded mud |
| Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall He said: I am not one to prostrate myself unto a mortal whom Thou hast created out of potter's clay of black mud altered |
| Mufti Taqi Usmani He said, “I am not such that I should prostrate myself before a mortal whom You have created from a ringing clay made of decayed mud.” |
| Muhammad Asad [Iblis] replied: "It is not for me to prostrate myself before mortal man whom Thou hast created out of sounding clay, out of dark slime transmuted |
| Muhammad Mahmoud Ghali Said he, "Indeed I did not have to prostrate myself to a mortal whom You created of dry clay of mud modeled |
| Muhammad Sarwar Iblis replied, "I did not want to prostrate before a human being whom You have created out of mud-moulded clay |

| Mustafa Khattab Allah Edition He replied, “It is not for me to prostrate to a human You created from sounding clay moulded from black mud.” |

| N J Dawood He said: ‘I was not to bow to a mortal whom You created of dry clay, of black moulded loam.‘ |
| Safi Kaskas [Iblis] replied, "I will not bow down before a mortal man whom You have created out of dried clay, formed from dark mud |
