Quran with British translation - Surah Al-hijr ayat 39 - الحِجر - Page - Juz 14
﴿قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَآ أَغۡوَيۡتَنِي لَأُزَيِّنَنَّ لَهُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَأُغۡوِيَنَّهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِينَ ﴾
[الحِجر: 39]
﴿قال رب بما أغويتني لأزينن لهم في الأرض ولأغوينهم أجمعين﴾ [الحِجر: 39]
| Mohammad Habib Shakir He said: My Lord! because Thou hast made life evil to me, I will certainly make (evil) fair-seeming to them on earth, and I will certainly cause them all to deviate |
| Mohammad Shafi He said, "My Lord! As You have made me deviate from the right way, I will certainly keep them enthralled in the earth, and I will certainly cause them all to deviate |
| Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall He said: My Lord! Because Thou hast sent me astray, I verily shall adorn the path of error for them in the earth, and shall mislead them every one |
| Mufti Taqi Usmani He said, “My Lord, since You made me go astray, I swear that I shall beautify for them (evils) on the earth, and shall lead all of them astray |
| Muhammad Asad [Whereupon Iblis] said: "O my Sustainer! Since Thou hast thwarted me, I shall indeed make [all that is evil] on earth seem goodly to them, and shall most certainly beguile them-into grievous error |
| Muhammad Mahmoud Ghali Said he, "Lord! For (the fact) that You misguided me, indeed I will definitely adorn for them (i.e., make "evil" attractive to them) in the earth; and indeed I will definitely misguide them all together |
| Muhammad Sarwar Iblis said, "Lord, because you have caused me to go astray, I shall make earthly things attractive to (people) and mislead all of them |

| Safi Kaskas [Whereupon Iblis] said, "Oh, my Lord! Since You led me on to this, I will make [all that is evil] on earth appear good to people, and will most certainly entice them into sin |
