﴿وَلَا تَقۡتُلُوٓاْ أَوۡلَٰدَكُمۡ خَشۡيَةَ إِمۡلَٰقٖۖ نَّحۡنُ نَرۡزُقُهُمۡ وَإِيَّاكُمۡۚ إِنَّ قَتۡلَهُمۡ كَانَ خِطۡـٔٗا كَبِيرٗا ﴾
[الإسرَاء: 31]
﴿ولا تقتلوا أولادكم خشية إملاق نحن نرزقهم وإياكم إن قتلهم كان خطئا﴾ [الإسرَاء: 31]
| Mohammad Habib Shakir And do not kill your children for fear of poverty; We give them sustenance and yourselves (too); surely to kill them is a great wrong |
| Mohammad Shafi And kill not your children for fear of poverty. We give them sustenance as We give it to you. Killing them is indeed a great wrong |
| Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall Slay not your children, fearing a fall to poverty, We shall provide for them and for you. Lo! the slaying of them is great sin |
