﴿ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَكُمۡ ثُمَّ رَزَقَكُمۡ ثُمَّ يُمِيتُكُمۡ ثُمَّ يُحۡيِيكُمۡۖ هَلۡ مِن شُرَكَآئِكُم مَّن يَفۡعَلُ مِن ذَٰلِكُم مِّن شَيۡءٖۚ سُبۡحَٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يُشۡرِكُونَ ﴾
[الرُّوم: 40]
﴿الله الذي خلقكم ثم رزقكم ثم يميتكم ثم يحييكم هل من شركائكم﴾ [الرُّوم: 40]
| Mohammad Habib Shakir Allah is He Who created you, then gave you sustenance, then He causes you to die, then brings you to life. Is there any of your associate-gods who does aught of it? Glory be to Him, and exalted be He above what they associate (with Him) |
| Mohammad Shafi Allah is He Who has created you, then provided you with sustenance, then causes you to die, and then brings you back to life. Are there any of those whom you worship besides Allah who can do any of these things? Glorified and exalted is He above all those whom they worship besides Him |
| Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall Allah is He Who created you and then sustained you, then causeth you to die, then giveth life to you again. Is there any of your (so-called) partners (of Allah) that doeth aught of that? Praised and Exalted be He above what they associate (with Him) |
| Mufti Taqi Usmani Allah is the One who created you, then gave sustenance to you, then He will make you dead, then He will make you alive. Is there any one from your (so-called) ‘partners of God’ who can do anything of that (kind)? Pure is He, and far higher than what they associate (with Him) |
| Muhammad Asad IT IS GOD who has created you, and then has provided you with sustenance, and then will cause you to die, and then will bring you to life again. Can any of those beings or powers to whom you ascribe a share in His divinity do any of these things? Limitless is He in His glory, and sublimely exalted above anything to which men may ascribe a share in His divinity |
| Muhammad Mahmoud Ghali Allah is (He) Who created you; thereafter He provided for you; thereafter He will cause you to die; thereafter He will give you life. Is there any of your associates who performs any of these things? All Extolment be to Him and Supremely Exalted be He above whatever they associate (with Him) |

| Safi Kaskas It is God who created you, then provided for you, who will cause you to die and then will give you life again. Can any of your "partners" do any of those things? May He be exalted in His glory and high above anything they associate with Him |
