﴿أَتَّخَذۡنَٰهُمۡ سِخۡرِيًّا أَمۡ زَاغَتۡ عَنۡهُمُ ٱلۡأَبۡصَٰرُ ﴾ 
[صٓ: 63]
﴿أتخذناهم سخريا أم زاغت عنهم الأبصار﴾ [صٓ: 63]
| Mohammad Habib Shakir Was it that we (only) took them in scorn, or have our eyes (now) turned aside from them | 
| Mohammad Shafi We used to hold them in ridicule! Or is it that our eyes have missed them | 
| Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall Did we take them (wrongly) for a laughing-stock, or have our eyes missed them | 
| Mufti Taqi Usmani Had we taken them as a laughing-stock (unjustly), or have our eyes missed them?” | 
| Muhammad Asad [and] whom we made the target of our derision? Or is it that [they are here, and] our eyes have missed them?” | 
| Muhammad Mahmoud Ghali Did we take them to ourselves as a (target of) scoffing? Or have our be holdings swerved away from them | 
| Muhammad Sarwar and whom we mocked? Have they been rescued or can our eyes not find them | 
| Muhammad Taqi Usmani Had we taken them as a laughing-stock (unjustly), or have our eyes missed them | 
| Mustafa Khattab Allah Edition Were we wrong in mocking them ˹in the world˺? Or do our eyes ˹just˺ fail to see them ˹in the Fire˺?” | 
| Mustafa Khattab God Edition Were we wrong in mocking them ˹in the world˺? Or do our eyes ˹just˺ fail to see them ˹in the Fire˺?” |
