Quran with British translation - Surah Ghafir ayat 74 - غَافِر - Page - Juz 24
﴿مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِۖ قَالُواْ ضَلُّواْ عَنَّا بَل لَّمۡ نَكُن نَّدۡعُواْ مِن قَبۡلُ شَيۡـٔٗاۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يُضِلُّ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ ﴾
[غَافِر: 74]
﴿من دون الله قالوا ضلوا عنا بل لم نكن ندعوا من قبل﴾ [غَافِر: 74]
| Mohammad Habib Shakir Besides Allah? They shall say: They are gone away from us, nay, we used not to call upon anything before. Thus does Allah confound the unbelievers |
| Mohammad Shafi (Worshipped) besides Allah?" They reply, "They have failed us; but what we used to pray to besides Allah before had no legitimacy to pray to at all!" Thus does Allah send astray those that suppress the Truth |
| Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall Beside Allah? They say: They have failed us; but we used not to pray to anything before. Thus doth Allah send astray the disbelievers (in His guidance) |
| Mufti Taqi Usmani beside Allah?” They will say, “They are lost to us, rather, we used to invoke nothing at all.” This is how Allah makes disbelievers get lost |
| Muhammad Asad [side by side with God?” They will answer: “They have forsaken us - or, rather, what we were wont to invoke aforetime did not exist at all!” And they will be told:] “It is thus that God lets the deniers of the truth go astray |
| Muhammad Mahmoud Ghali Apart from Allah?" They will say, "They have erred away from us; no indeed, we used not to invoke anything earlier." Thus Allah leads the disbelievers into error |
| Muhammad Sarwar They will reply, "They have abandoned us. In fact, we had worshipped nothing" Thus does God cause the disbelievers to go astray |
| Muhammad Taqi Usmani beside Allah?. They will say, .They are lost to us, rather, we used to invoke nothing at all. This is how Allah makes disbelievers get lost |
| Mustafa Khattab Allah Edition with Allah?” They will cry, “They have ˹all˺ failed us. In fact, we did not invoke anything ˹real˺ before.” This is how Allah leaves the disbelievers to stray |

| N J Dawood They have forsaken us,‘ they will say. ‘Indeed, they were nothing, those gods to whom we prayed.‘ Thus God confounds the unbelievers |
| Safi Kaskas other than God?" They will say, "They have departed from us; or, rather, those we used to call upon proved to be nothing. [They will be told,] "This is how God let those who deny the truth stray |
