﴿يَسۡمَعُ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ تُتۡلَىٰ عَلَيۡهِ ثُمَّ يُصِرُّ مُسۡتَكۡبِرٗا كَأَن لَّمۡ يَسۡمَعۡهَاۖ فَبَشِّرۡهُ بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٖ ﴾
[الجاثِية: 8]
﴿يسمع آيات الله تتلى عليه ثم يصر مستكبرا كأن لم يسمعها فبشره﴾ [الجاثِية: 8]
Mohammad Habib Shakir Who hears the communications of Allah recited to him, then persists proudly as though he had not heard them; so announce to him a painful punishment |
Mohammad Shafi He hears Allahճ Verses recited to him, and then arrogantly persists [in being a sinful liar] as though he had not heard it. Tell him, then, he shall suffer a painful punishment |
