﴿أَمۡ يَقُولُونَ ٱفۡتَرَىٰهُۖ قُلۡ إِنِ ٱفۡتَرَيۡتُهُۥ فَلَا تَمۡلِكُونَ لِي مِنَ ٱللَّهِ شَيۡـًٔاۖ هُوَ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَا تُفِيضُونَ فِيهِۚ كَفَىٰ بِهِۦ شَهِيدَۢا بَيۡنِي وَبَيۡنَكُمۡۖ وَهُوَ ٱلۡغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ﴾
[الأحقَاف: 8]
﴿أم يقولون افتراه قل إن افتريته فلا تملكون لي من الله شيئا﴾ [الأحقَاف: 8]
| Mohammad Habib Shakir Nay! they say: He has forged it. Say: If I have forged it, you do not control anything for me from Allah; He knows best what you utter concerning it; He is enough as a witness between me and you, and He is the Forgiving, the Merciful |
| Mohammad Shafi Or do they say you [Muhammad] fabricated it [Qur'aan]? Say, "If I have fabricated it, you do have no power to support me against Allah. He is aware of what [lies] you utter concerning it. He is enough as a witness between me and you. And He is the One, Forgiving, Merciful |
| Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall Or say they: He hath invented it? Say (O Muhammad): If I have invented it, still ye have no power to support me against Allah. He is Best Aware of what ye say among yourselves concerning it. He sufficeth for a witness between me and you. And He is the Forgiving, the Merciful |

He well knows the way you fulminate about it. Sufficient is He as my witness and your witness. And it is He who is the Forgiving One, the Compassionate.‘ |
