﴿ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمُ ٱتَّبَعُواْ مَآ أَسۡخَطَ ٱللَّهَ وَكَرِهُواْ رِضۡوَٰنَهُۥ فَأَحۡبَطَ أَعۡمَٰلَهُمۡ ﴾
[مُحمد: 28]
﴿ذلك بأنهم اتبعوا ما أسخط الله وكرهوا رضوانه فأحبط أعمالهم﴾ [مُحمد: 28]
Mohammad Habib Shakir That is because they follow what is displeasing to Allah and are averse to His pleasure, therefore He has made null their deeds |
Mohammad Shafi Because, they pursue what angers Allah and shun what pleases Him. And so He has made their deeds worthless |
Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall That will be because they followed that which angereth Allah, and hated that which pleaseth Him. Therefor He hath made their actions vain |
Mufti Taqi Usmani That is because they followed that which has angered Allah, and they disliked His pleasure; therefore He has nullified their deeds |
Muhammad Asad This, because they were wont to pursue what God condemns and to hate [whatever would meet with] His goodly acceptance: and so He has caused all their [good] deeds to come to nought |
Muhammad Mahmoud Ghali That is for that they have closely followed what causes wrath from Allah and hated His all-blessed Satisfaction; so He frustrated their deeds |
Muhammad Sarwar for their following that which had incurred God's anger, and their hatred to please God. Thus, God has made their deeds devoid of all virtue |
