﴿لِّئَلَّا يَعۡلَمَ أَهۡلُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ أَلَّا يَقۡدِرُونَ عَلَىٰ شَيۡءٖ مِّن فَضۡلِ ٱللَّهِ وَأَنَّ ٱلۡفَضۡلَ بِيَدِ ٱللَّهِ يُؤۡتِيهِ مَن يَشَآءُۚ وَٱللَّهُ ذُو ٱلۡفَضۡلِ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ ﴾
[الحدِيد: 29]
﴿لئلا يعلم أهل الكتاب ألا يقدرون على شيء من فضل الله وأن﴾ [الحدِيد: 29]
| Mohammad Habib Shakir So that the followers of the Book may know that they do not control aught of the grace of Allah, and that grace is in Allah's hand, He gives it to whom He pleases; and Allah is the Lord of mighty grace |
| Mohammad Shafi [Allah forgives the believers and is merciful to them] so that the People of the Book [Jews and Christians] should know that they have no power whatsoever over Allah's bounty and that His bounty is entirely in His Hand.
