﴿وَإِن فَاتَكُمۡ شَيۡءٞ مِّنۡ أَزۡوَٰجِكُمۡ إِلَى ٱلۡكُفَّارِ فَعَاقَبۡتُمۡ فَـَٔاتُواْ ٱلَّذِينَ ذَهَبَتۡ أَزۡوَٰجُهُم مِّثۡلَ مَآ أَنفَقُواْۚ وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ ٱلَّذِيٓ أَنتُم بِهِۦ مُؤۡمِنُونَ ﴾
[المُمتَحنَة: 11]
﴿وإن فاتكم شيء من أزواجكم إلى الكفار فعاقبتم فآتوا الذين ذهبت أزواجهم﴾ [المُمتَحنَة: 11]
| Mohammad Habib Shakir And if anything (out of the dowries) of your wives has passed away from you to the unbelievers, then your turn comes, give to those whose wives have gone away the like of what they have spent, and be careful of (your duty to) Allah in Whom you believe |
| Mohammad Shafi And if you lose anything, from your dues, to the suppressors of the Truth, then, as and when you get the opportunity, give to those whose wives have gone away the equivalent of what they had spent [on their wives by way of mehr]. And fear Allah, in whom you believe |
