﴿لَقَالُوٓاْ إِنَّمَا سُكِّرَتۡ أَبۡصَٰرُنَا بَلۡ نَحۡنُ قَوۡمٞ مَّسۡحُورُونَ ﴾
[الحِجر: 15]
﴿لقالوا إنما سكرت أبصارنا بل نحن قوم مسحورون﴾ [الحِجر: 15]
| Al Bilal Muhammad Et Al They would only say, “Our eyes have been intoxicated. No, we have been possessed by deception.” |
| Ali Bakhtiari Nejad they would certainly say: indeed our eyes are intoxicated (and we are dazzled), rather we are bewitched people |
| Ali Quli Qarai they would surely say, ‘Indeed a spell has been cast on our eyes; indeed, we are a bewitched lot.’ |
| Ali Unal They would say, "Our eyes are but spellbound; rather, we have been bewitched |
| Hamid S Aziz They would only say, "Our eye-sight is only intoxicated; nay, we have been bewitched by sorcery (or hypnotized) |
| John Medows Rodwell They would surely say: It is only that our eyes are drunken: nay, we are a people enchanted |
| Literal They would have said: "But our eye/sights/understanding got closed and confused, but we are a bewitched/enchanted nation |
