Quran with English translation - Surah Al-Baqarah ayat 51 - البَقَرَة - Page - Juz 1
﴿وَإِذۡ وَٰعَدۡنَا مُوسَىٰٓ أَرۡبَعِينَ لَيۡلَةٗ ثُمَّ ٱتَّخَذۡتُمُ ٱلۡعِجۡلَ مِنۢ بَعۡدِهِۦ وَأَنتُمۡ ظَٰلِمُونَ ﴾
[البَقَرَة: 51]
﴿وإذ واعدنا موسى أربعين ليلة ثم اتخذتم العجل من بعده وأنتم ظالمون﴾ [البَقَرَة: 51]
Al Bilal Muhammad Et Al And remember We appointed forty nights for Moses, and in his absence, you took the calf, and you did a great wrong |
Ali Bakhtiari Nejad And (remember) when We made an appointment with Moses for forty nights, then after him (in his absence) you took a calf (as god). You were wrongdoers |
Ali Quli Qarai And when We made an appointment with Moses for forty nights, you took up the Calf [for worship] in his absence, and you were wrongdoers |
Ali Unal And when on another occasion We appointed with Moses forty nights, then (during the time he stayed on Mount Sinai; ) you adopted the (golden) calf as deity and worshipped it after him; and you were wronging yourselves thereby with a most heinous wrong |
Hamid S Aziz When We treated with Moses forty nights, then you chose the calf after he had gone and you did wrong |
John Medows Rodwell And when we were in treaty with Moses forty nights: then during his absence took ye the calf and acted wickedly |
Literal And when/where We promised Moses forty nights, then you took the calf from after him, and you are unjust/oppressive |
