﴿لَّوۡلَآ إِذۡ سَمِعۡتُمُوهُ ظَنَّ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنَٰتُ بِأَنفُسِهِمۡ خَيۡرٗا وَقَالُواْ هَٰذَآ إِفۡكٞ مُّبِينٞ ﴾
[النور: 12]
﴿لولا إذ سمعتموه ظن المؤمنون والمؤمنات بأنفسهم خيرا وقالوا هذا إفك مبين﴾ [النور: 12]
Al Bilal Muhammad Et Al Why did the believers, men and women, when you heard of the affair, not put the best light on it in their own minds and say, “This charge is an obvious lie” |
Ali Bakhtiari Nejad Why when you heard it, the believing men and the believing women did not think well of themselves and they did not say: this is an obvious lie |
Ali Quli Qarai When you [first] heard about it, why did not the faithful, men and women, think well of their folks, and say, ‘This is an obvious calumny’ |
Ali Unal When you heard of it, why did the believing men and women not think well of one another and declare: "This is obviously a slander |
Hamid S Aziz Why did not, when you heard it, the believers, men and women, think good of their own folk, and say, "This is an obvious lie |
