﴿فَكَيۡفَ إِذَآ أَصَٰبَتۡهُم مُّصِيبَةُۢ بِمَا قَدَّمَتۡ أَيۡدِيهِمۡ ثُمَّ جَآءُوكَ يَحۡلِفُونَ بِٱللَّهِ إِنۡ أَرَدۡنَآ إِلَّآ إِحۡسَٰنٗا وَتَوۡفِيقًا ﴾
[النِّسَاء: 62]
﴿فكيف إذا أصابتهم مصيبة بما قدمت أيديهم ثم جاءوك يحلفون بالله إن﴾ [النِّسَاء: 62]
Al Bilal Muhammad Et Al O how they will be seized by misfortune because of the deeds which their hands have sent forth. Then they come to you swearing by God, “We meant no more than good-will and conciliation.” |
Ali Bakhtiari Nejad And how is it that when a tragedy strikes them for what their hands sent ahead, then they come to you swearing by God: we only wanted good and success (for you) |
Ali Quli Qarai But how will it be when an affliction visits them because of what their hands have sent ahead? Then they will come to you, swearing by Allah, ‘We desired nothing but to do good and to bring about comity.’ |
Ali Unal But how then, when a disaster befalls them because of what they have forwarded with their own hands (to their future), they come to you, swearing by God and say: "We intended only goodwill and conciliation |
Hamid S Aziz How then when there befalls them a misfortune through their own actions? Then will they come to you, and swear by Allah, "We meant naught but good and concord (harmony, reconciliation) |
John Medows Rodwell But how, when some misfortune shall fortune them, for their previous handywork? Then will they come to thee, swearing by God, "We desire nothing but to promote good and concord |
Literal So how if a disaster struck them with what their hands advanced/presented/undertook , then they came to you swearing by God: "That truly we wanted except a goodness, and harmony |
