Quran with English translation - Surah Al-Ahqaf ayat 20 - الأحقَاف - Page - Juz 26
﴿وَيَوۡمَ يُعۡرَضُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ أَذۡهَبۡتُمۡ طَيِّبَٰتِكُمۡ فِي حَيَاتِكُمُ ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَٱسۡتَمۡتَعۡتُم بِهَا فَٱلۡيَوۡمَ تُجۡزَوۡنَ عَذَابَ ٱلۡهُونِ بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَسۡتَكۡبِرُونَ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ بِغَيۡرِ ٱلۡحَقِّ وَبِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَفۡسُقُونَ ﴾
[الأحقَاف: 20]
﴿ويوم يعرض الذين كفروا على النار أذهبتم طيباتكم في حياتكم الدنيا واستمتعتم﴾ [الأحقَاف: 20]
Al Bilal Muhammad Et Al And on the day that the unbelievers will be placed before the fire, it will be said to them, “You received good things in the life of the world, and you took pleasure in them, but today you will be rewarded with a humiliating penalty, because you were arrogant on earth without just cause, and because you transgressed.” |
Ali Bakhtiari Nejad And on a day when those who disbelieved are presented to the fire (they are told): you did away with your good things in your life of the world, and you enjoyed it, so today you are paid back with a humiliating punishment because you were unjustifiably arrogant on the earth and because you were disobedient |
Ali Quli Qarai The day when the faithless are exposed to the Fire, [they will be told,] ‘You have exhausted your good things in the life of the world and enjoyed them. So today you will be requited with a humiliating punishment for your acting arrogantly in the earth unduly, and because you used to transgress.’ |
Ali Unal On that Day, those who disbelieve will be brought to the Fire (and they will be told): "You consumed in your worldly life your (share of) pure, wholesome things, and enjoyed them fully (without considering the due of the Hereafter, and so have taken in the world the reward of all your good deeds). So this Day you are recompensed with the punishment of abasement because of your scornful arrogance on the earth against all right, and because of your transgressing (the bounds set by God) |
Hamid S Aziz And on the Day when those who disbelieve shall be brought before the Fire, (it will be said,) "You did squander your good things in the life of the world and you enjoyed them for a while; now this day you shall be rewarded with the punishment of abas |
John Medows Rodwell And they who believe not shall one day be set before the fire. "Ye made away your precious gifts during your life on earth; and ye took your fill of pleasure in them: This day, therefore, with punishment of shame shall ye be rewarded, for that ye behaved you proudly and unjustly on the earth, and for that ye were given to excesses |
Literal And a day/time those who disbelieved be displayed/exhibited on (to) the fire : "You wiped off/eliminated your good (deeds) in your life the present/worldly life, and you lived long/enjoyed with it, so the day/today you are being reimbursed (the) torture (of) the humiliation/disgrace because (of) what you were being arrogant in the earth/Planet Earth without the right , and because (of) what you were debauching |
Mir Anees Original And on that day those who did not believe will be presented before the fire (and it will be said), “You took away (your share of) good things in your life of the world and you enjoyed in it, so this day you will be rewarded with the punishment of humility because you used to consider yourselves great in the earth without having the right to do so and because you used to transgress.” |
