Quran with English translation - Surah Al-Qalam ayat 43 - القَلَم - Page - Juz 29
﴿خَٰشِعَةً أَبۡصَٰرُهُمۡ تَرۡهَقُهُمۡ ذِلَّةٞۖ وَقَدۡ كَانُواْ يُدۡعَوۡنَ إِلَى ٱلسُّجُودِ وَهُمۡ سَٰلِمُونَ ﴾
[القَلَم: 43]
﴿خاشعة أبصارهم ترهقهم ذلة وقد كانوا يدعون إلى السجود وهم سالمون﴾ [القَلَم: 43]
Al Bilal Muhammad Et Al Their eyes will be cast down, disgrace will cover them, seeing that they had been asked to bow in adoration while they were whole |
Ali Bakhtiari Nejad Lowering their eyes, humiliation overcomes them, and they had been called to show humbleness while they were sound and healthy |
Ali Quli Qarai With a humbled look [in their eyes], they will be overcast by abasement. Certainly, they were summoned to prostrate themselves while they were yet sound |
Ali Unal Downcast will be their eyes, with abasement overwhelming them. Assuredly they were called to prostrate while they were yet safe and whole (in this world, but they did not) |
Hamid S Aziz Their looks cast down, abasement shall overtake them seeing that they had been called upon to make obeisance indeed while yet they were safe |
John Medows Rodwell Their looks shall be downcast: shame shall cover them: because, while yet in safety, they were invited to bow in worship, but would not obey |
Literal Their eyesights/understanding (are) humble/submissive , humiliation/disgrace burdens/depresses them , and they had become being called repeatedly to the prostration and they are safe/secure |
